We previously reported (Rani, MR, Asthagiri, AR, Singh, A., Sizemore, N., Sathe, SS, Li, X.,

IFN-β induction of β-R1in fibrosarcoma cells required transcription factors ISGF-3 and NF-
κB. IFN-β treatment did not augment the abundance of NF-κB, but led to phosphorylation of
the NF-κB subunit p65 and induced a nuclear activity capable of phosphorylating a p65-GST
